Privacy
What MathFun keeps, and what it doesn’t.
No accounts, no ads, and most of MathFun never leaves your browser. Here is exactly where information goes, feature by feature.
Updated
01The short answer
Does MathFun collect information about my child?
MathFun has no accounts, so it never asks for an email address, birthday, school, or real name. Worksheets, online practice, quizzes, and the math check-in run in your browser, and the answers are not sent to MathFun.
Two things leave the device: Battle, which stores the names players type and their scores so both screens can show the same race, and Google Analytics, which counts page visits without answers, scores, or names.
02On your device
What stays on this device?
These are saved in your browser’s storage for this site and are never uploaded:
- Worksheets and online practice. Problems are created and checked in the browser. Your last operation, difficulty, and page count are remembered so the next session starts faster.
- Quiz. Progress lives in the open tab only and is gone when the page is refreshed.
- Math check-in. Answers are kept for the current tab. If you choose to remember the check-in on this device, it is kept for up to seven days. Results pages are not public and are hidden from search engines.
- Battle. The device remembers the last name, avatar, and settings you used, plus links to your recent battles so you can rejoin after a reload.
To remove all of it, clear this site’s data in your browser settings.
03Battle
What does a math battle store, and who can see it?
Battle is the only feature that uses the MathFun server, which keeps score so neither player can change it. For each battle it stores:
- The setup. The passcode, the problem settings, and the problems with their answers.
- The players. The name each player types (1 to 20 characters) and the animal avatar they pick.
- The race. Each submitted answer, whether it was right, when it was given, and the final scores.
Anyone with a battle’s result link can see both names and scores, and search engines are asked not to index battle pages. A first name or a nickname is plenty.
Players join only with the four-character passcode. There is no matchmaking with strangers, no chat, and no way to send messages. Finished battles are kept so result links keep working.
04Analytics
What does Google Analytics see?
MathFun uses Google Analytics cookies to count visits. For each page view it sends:
- The page. Its address without your settings, and its title. Private battle links are reduced to a generic “battle” page.
- Where you came from. Only the website’s domain, never the full address.
Answers, scores, player names, settings, and check-in results are never sent. Advertising features, ad personalization, and Google signals are turned off. If you block analytics in your browser, every part of MathFun still works.
05Hosting
Who else handles my visit?
MathFun and its battle server run on Cloudflare, which receives each request in order to deliver the site, as any web host does. MathFun’s own code does not record IP addresses. Fonts and images are served from mathfun.me.
06Free, no ads
Is MathFun really free? Are there ads?
Yes, it is free. Worksheets, online practice, quizzes, the check-in, and battles need no account, show no ads, and have no purchases inside. MathFun is a project by Howard, a parent who built it for his own two kids.
07Changes
Will this page change?
If MathFun changes what it stores or sends, this page will be updated first, along with the date at the top. Last updated October 8, 2026.
