Subtracting Decimals Quiz
About this quiz
Subtract decimals to tenths, hundredths, or thousandths, with answers that are never below zero.
- Choose tenths, hundredths, or thousandths.
- Answer 10, 20, or 30 flash cards, one at a time, while a timer runs.
- At the end, review your score, time, and every mistake, then practice just the cards you missed.
- For Grades 5–6 · Common Core 5.NBT.B.7, 6.NS.B.3
Worked example
7.2 − 3.5 = 3.7
Line up the decimal points. 2 tenths is less than 5, so regroup: 12 − 5 = 7 tenths, then 6 − 3 = 3 ones.
Tip: Add zeros so both numbers have the same number of decimal places: 7.2 is 7.20.
